Workshops organized in past LeadNet Meetings

Scientific and technological workshops are one of the main attractions of the LeadNet meetings. They open the possibility to share experience, knowledge and technology across different institutes, and more importantly, across the sections of the Max Planck society. Everybody is free to organize a workshop in his/her field of expertise and we strongly encourage to invite people from the three sections.
In the last years, several workshops were organized by LeadNet attendees, ranging from imaging to evolution and neurobiology.
Find a list of them below, including their programs and participating speakers.

LeadNet Meeting 2015

Workshop I: Challenges in visualisation of complex data
The workshop was organized by Sebastian Leidel and Bianca Habermann.

Workshop II: Rise to the challenge – approaching science in the different sections
The workshop was organized by Christian Biertuempfel.Workshop III: Imaging facilities – get together sessionThe workshop was organized by Jan Peychl.

Workshop IV: Postdoc workshop: How to organize a successful postdoc
The workshop was organized by Christiane Haupt from the MPS GV.

LeadNet Meeting 2014

Workshop I: Brains, Behaviours and Complex Dynamics
The workshop was organized by Gabriele Bixel, Gabriele Lohmann, Matthias Munk and Petra Ritter.

Workshop II: Renewable Energy and Energiewende
The workshop was organized by Harun Tueysuez.

Workshop III: Making Use of Omics
The workshop was organized by Richard Reinhardt and Sebastian Leidel.

LeadNet Meeting 2013

Workshop I: The Concept of Ageing across the Sections: Modeling Change from Birth to Death
The idea of the workshop was to compare modeling techniques that are used in different research areas to look at change in living and non-living systems during the process of what we can describe as ageing.
The workshop was organized by Annette Baudisch and Bianca Habermann.

Workshop II: Cross-Sectional Workshop on Imaging Techniques
In this workshop, we looked at imaging techniques that are used across the sections.
The workshop was organized by Gabriele Bixel, Matthias Munk and Jan Peychl.

Workshop III: Current Techniques in Mass Spectrometry at the MPG
This workshop wanted to achieve two goals: First, to bring together the people within the MPG, who are working and using mass spectrometry and second, to give an overview to the non experts about what is going on with this exciting technique in the different sections.
The workshop was organized by Sebastian Leidel.

LeadNet Meeting 2012

Workshop I: The Evolution of Systems
The workshop looked at the evolution of living and non-living systems and included speakers from all three sections. It was our first, truly interdisciplinary workshop that spanned all three sections of the MPS.
The workshop was organized by Sebastian Leidel (MPI for Molecular Biomedicine).

Workshop II: Image Analysis in Living Systems
Image analysis techniques applied to living systems were discussed.
The workshop is organized by Pavel Tomancak (MPI for Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics).

Workshop III: NGS-sequencing and data analysis: an Introduction of the MPG Cologne Center of Genomics & New Developments in Data Analysis
The MPG Cologne Center of Genomics (MPI for Plant Breeding) introduced themselves and analysis software developed in MPI groups was presented.
The workshop is organized by Richard Reinhardt (MPI for Plant Breeding) and Bianca Habermann (MPI for Biology of Ageing).

LeadNet Meeting 2011

Workshop I: Advanced Microscopy and Imaging
The workshop was organized by Markus Grabenbauer and Ali Kinkhabwala. The workshop was part of the common scientific program.

Workshop II: Computational Biology and Bioinformatics
The workshop was organized by Mario Albrecht and Bianca Habermann.

Workshop III: Neural Coding and Neuromodulation
The workshop was organized by Matthias Munk.

LeadNet Meeting 2010

Workshop I: Computational Biology and Bioinformatics
The workshop was organized by Mario Albrecht and Bianca Habermann.
